EV Charger Installation
Level 2 charging in the garage or driveway — installed on a properly sized circuit, not a hopeful one.
An EV charger is a large, sustained load, and it is the load that most often exposes a panel that was already at its limit. The install itself is straightforward; the honest part is telling you whether your service can carry it.
We check the existing capacity first, run a dedicated circuit sized for the charger you actually bought, and mount it where the cable will reach the car without stretching across a walkway.
What this covers
- Level 2 (240V) charger installation
- Dedicated circuit sized to the unit
- Load evaluation before we commit
- Panel upgrade when capacity requires it
- Garage, carport, and driveway mounting

Common questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — All Covered Electric holds California contractor license #1133116 and is fully insured. You are welcome to verify the license with the CSLB before we start.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free. We will look at the job, tell you what it needs, and give you a number before any work begins.
How fast can you get here in an emergency?
We offer 24/7 emergency service across Sonoma County. Call (707) 339-0691. If something is actively sparking, arcing, or burning, shut off the breaker if you can do so safely — and if the situation is dangerous, call 911 first.
Do I need a panel upgrade before installing an EV charger?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your existing service and what else it is running. An EV charger is a large sustained load. We evaluate your capacity before quoting, and we will tell you if your panel can already handle it.
