Electrical Panel Upgrades

Older Sonoma County homes were never wired for today’s loads. We upgrade the panel so the rest of the house can keep up.

A panel upgrade is the quiet prerequisite for almost every modern addition to a home — an EV charger, a heat pump, a induction range, a hot tub, an ADU. If the service cannot carry the load, nothing else you add will work safely.

We size the service to what you actually plan to run, pull the permit, coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect, and leave you with a labeled panel and clear capacity to grow into.

What this covers

  • Service upgrades to 200A and above
  • Federal Pacific and Zinsco replacements
  • Sub-panels for ADUs, shops, and garages
  • Permit handling and utility coordination
  • Clear, accurate circuit labeling

Common questions

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — All Covered Electric holds California contractor license #1133116 and is fully insured. You are welcome to verify the license with the CSLB before we start.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free. We will look at the job, tell you what it needs, and give you a number before any work begins.

How fast can you get here in an emergency?

We offer 24/7 emergency service across Sonoma County. Call (707) 339-0691. If something is actively sparking, arcing, or burning, shut off the breaker if you can do so safely — and if the situation is dangerous, call 911 first.

Do I need a panel upgrade before installing an EV charger?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your existing service and what else it is running. An EV charger is a large sustained load. We evaluate your capacity before quoting, and we will tell you if your panel can already handle it.
